In 2009 Ian was guest of Devon Libraries and toured the county with his workshop programme for children.
The event was called DINOSAUR DAY and attracted youngsters of all age ages who enjoyed meeting Spike the dinosaur ( as well as Ian!).

On board HMS Victory Ian met pupils from a local school to share his historical narrative, Powder Monkey. He read extracts from the story and lead a writing workshop based on life on board Nelson’s flagship! Powder Monkey is the story of Jack, a reluctant time traveller who finds himself smack in the middle of the Battle of Trafalgar.

Sams Spitfire Summer tells the story of a young evacuee transported to the Kent countryside. The story provided the means to teach children of the events of World War II at The Battle of Britain Memorial Site at Capel-le-Ferne Folkestone.
