Story Project - Fiction

Using one of his own stories as a starting point, Ian shows children how  to plan, write and develop a complete story in several chapters, each with its own guided writing focus.

Story themes from:

  • The Mummy's Finger (thriller/Egyptians)
  • The Magician's Bag (mystery/quest)
  • Eyeball Soup (thriller/boys' writing)
  • Sam's Spitfire Summer (WW2)
  • Magut the Alien (space adventure)
  • Powder Monkey (time travel)

Non-Fiction Writing

Again, using one of his own stories as a starting point, this time Ian shows children how to write a range of non-fiction text types , including...

  • diary form
  • letter writing
  • playscript
  • newspaper front page

Ian uses excerpts from his stories, images and drama techniques to bring non-fiction writing to life in the classroom.
